Because the final wisps of winter’s chill dissipated, the earth started to stir from its slumber. The bottom, as soon as frozen and barren, began to thaw, and with it, the colourful colours of spring burst forth in a kaleidoscope of hues. The air was crammed with the candy scent of blooming flowers, and the light hum of bees as they flitted from petal to petal, amassing nectar to carry again to their hives.
On this idyllic scene, a stupendous desk stood empty, its floor polished to a heat sheen. It appeared to be ready, patiently, for the arrival of spring’s bounty. Maybe it was set for a picnic, or a backyard get together, the place family and friends would collect to rejoice the season’s arrival. Regardless of the event, the desk’s simplicity and magnificence made it the proper backdrop for the colourful colours that surrounded it.
The flowers, a riot of coloration and texture, danced within the light breeze, their petals swaying gently as they basked within the heat daylight. There have been tulips, their cups a deep, wealthy pink, and daffodils, their brilliant yellow trumpets shining like miniature suns. The air was crammed with the fragile magnificence of those flowers, their stems swaying gently as they reached for the sky.
However it wasn’t simply the flowers that added to the great thing about this scene. A fragile butterfly, its wings a shimmering iridescent blue, flitted from flower to flower, sipping nectar and spreading pollen because it went. Its wings beat quickly because it hovered above a very vibrant bloom, its proboscis prolonged because it drank within the sweetness of the flower’s nectar.
Because the solar continued to shine down, casting a heat glow over the complete scene, the empty desk appeared to fade into the background, its significance misplaced in the great thing about the flowers and the butterfly. It was as if the desk was merely a prop, a mere backdrop for the true stars of the present: the flowers and the butterfly. And but, it was the desk that appeared to carry all the things collectively, a gradual and fixed presence within the midst of the colourful colours and delicate magnificence that surrounded it.
